Smoking is not allowed in lobbies and waiting areas since these areas are also used by patients. The ban on smoking also applies to private offices and any area of the hospital which is being used for public meetings.
To help smooth the transition for hospital employees and other members of the community, Culpeper Memorial Hospital is working with the American Lung Association to offer a smoking cessation program for those who want to kick the habit.
It is also important to note that smoking is responsible for over 60 percent of hospital fires.
