Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Keyser were pleasantly surprised when Mr. and Mrs. Strother of Texas dropped by their home and asked about the Strother Episcopal Chapel. Of course, the Keysers were veiy helpful in telling the Texas couple what they knew about the chapel.
The Strother Episcopal Chapel was the first church in Rappahannock County, and there is a monument marking the place where the chapel stood at the entrance to the Keyser home. The original fourroom rectory is now the Keyser home with more rooms added by the Keysers years ago. The Keysers are looking forward to hearing from the Strothers, as they have promised to write after returning to their home in Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Brockman of Charlotte, N.C., visited Mrs. Mary Updike and Miss Phyllis Vemer on Monday. Mr. Brockman is a former teacher in Rappahannock.
Mrs. Jean B. Moffett will fly to Seattle, Washington, August 2 to spend a month with Commander and Mrs. D. C. Welling and children Judith Carter, Anne Katherine and David Bentley. The Welling family has been on the East Coast for two weeks and will return August 3 to their home in Silverdale, Washington.
Visiting Mrs. Frances Eubank Saturday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Butler, their daughter and grandson of Hagerstown, Md. Mrs. Eubank had as luncheon guests Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hudson and daughter Victoria of Sperryville, and Mr. and Mrs. Frankie Hitt of Woodville and Mrs. Cecil Smoot and Crystal of Lake Front Royal visited in the afternoon.
