William R. (Bill) Bryant of Culpeper, an “All Vietnam Era” veteran, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was discharged with the rank of Sergeant, has been unanimously elected Department (State) Commander of The American Legion of Virginia. Mr. Bryant took office upon the conclusion of the 69th Annual Convention of The American Legion held in Roanoke, Virginia, attended by over 1,500 Legionnaires and Auxiliary members. William Bryant becomes Virginia’s first “exclusively” Vietnam veteran commander.
Commander Bryant reached this top level of leadership in Virginia because of his long and dedicated service in various Legion activities. He has been a member of Culpeper Post 330 for 13 very active years serving as its Commander, Vice Commander, Adjutant and Membership Chairman.
