In a large saucepan combine the nectarine mixture, the mace, and 1 1/2 cups cold water, bring the liquid to a simmer over moderately low heat, stirring occasionally, and simmer the mixture, covered, for 5 minutes. Ladle the mixture into a jelly bag set over a large heatproof bowl and let it drip, undisturbed for 2 hours. Do not squeeze the jelly but occasionally rub it gently and scrape the juices from the outside with a spatula into the bowl.
