the transformation. “I got married,' moved to the country and quit my job. I thought I’d have more time to paint but I ended up painting the house!”

For a while she divided her energies between painting and parttime, freelance work as an economic consultant. Then she gave up painting all together for a while and split the time between consulting and helping her husband establish a vineyard and winery at their Locust Hill Farm near Rectortown.

Now the winery and vines are his alone and she paints almost every day. “When you’re seriously involved in painting, it’s a way of life. It doesn’t take up just the hours you spend at the easel. It’s going on in your head. It opens your eyes. It’s a new way of looking at things.”
