Culpeper Heritage Days, and the band’s conductor, Major Lowell Graham, has selected an All-American program which he said will include such pieces as “Liberty Fanfare,” “The Cowboys,” “A Trumpeter’s Lullaby,” “American Civil War Fantasy,” a West Side Story medley, the music of Henry Mancini, vocal selections and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
The TAC Band, which is based at Langley Air Force Base, Va., has played a major role in the musical life of the East Coast for the past 40 years, according to a Choral Society spokesman. The 45-member band logs about 30,000 miles each year, entertaining more than one million listeners in about 500 performances.
