The following positions are available with the Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department:
Maintenance Crew Chief - Permanent, parttime, $4.71 - $6.02 per hour depending upon qualifications. Work schedule, April - September, 3716 hours weekly; October - March, 24 hours weekly minimum. Duties include: mowing grass, grading, raking and rolling ball fields, constructing picnic tables, painting bleachers, buildings and equipment, clearing brush, planting trees, shrubbery, flowers, etc., landscaping park areas, cleaning restrooms and picking up litter, installing sports equipment requisitioning supplies and equipment keeping time and leave records, preparing simple reports and schedules, supervises and evaluates work of assigned laborers. A valid Virginia State drivers license and good driving record required. Some experience in supervising work crews and varied experience in all facets of maintenance, repair and construction is necessary. Possession of current first aid and CPR certification is preferred. Minimum age 21.
Laborer II - Urgent need for this temporary, fufl-time position at $3.88 per hour until September 30. Under direct supervision of crew chief performs routine, semiskilled construction tasks for County parks, ball fields and recreation areas. Some experience and skill in operating maintenance equipment, ability to perform work requiring strength and stamina and ability to perform routine semi-skilled construction tasks is required.
