Updike wins state title

Scotty Updike was among the

^Rappahannock County representatives at ;j

§| the state-wide 4-H competition at the llyirginia State Fair, and brought home a ’ ' Jptate championship for his lamb. It is the ^second major award won by Scotty this ^ summer, who took Grand Champion honors for his Black Angus heifer at the \ Culpeper-Madison-Rappahannock Farm \ Show. He was also awarded a first place for his showmanship in the state livestock ' competition.

Rappahannock County Treasurer . # Frances Foster announced that 1988 property tax bills were mailed to county landowners and residents on Sept. 12. Because change of addresses are sometimes not reported to the Treasurer's Office, Mrs. Foster requests that anyone who has not received a notice of taxes due contact her office (675-3334), or write P. O. Box 37, Washington, Va. 22747. The office is located in the Courthouse complex, and is open from 8:30 a.m. to < 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. ' *r -r¥- «-• ■.&
