Music Boosters meeting
The Rappahannock County High School Music Boosters Association will hold its fall meeting on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. “It is very important that all parents, students and community members interested in music attend this meeting. We need your support,” said a Booster member.
Teen club organization meeting
The 4-H Teen Club will meet at the home of Kim and Larry Hovis in Washington on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 p.m. Anyone between the ages of 14 and 19 is encouraged to attend the organizational meeting.
'No Way Out'
The movie No Way Out will play at the Gay Street Theater on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m. each evening. The movie stars Gene Hackman, Kevin Costner and Sean Young. Kevin Costner, talented star of The Untouchables, gives another superb performance in Roger Donaldson’s tense and timely thriller set within the protected inner reaches of the Pentagon. Costner is L.C. Tom Farrell who has just arrived on staff. He’s given 48 hours to find and silence the witness to a brutal crime that must be covered up. Only Farrell knows that the witness he is looking for is himself. . .and there’s “No Way Out.” The movie is rated R. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
Open house at AVFD
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will hold an open house on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 1-5 p.m. to kick off fire prevention week. There will be information about fire safety, demonstrations, and free refreshments. The public is invited. The department will also hold its auction on Saturday, Nov. 5, beginning at 6 p.m.
GED study program
On Oct. 3 the Rappahannock Literacy Volunteers will begin a weekly class for residents studying for their General Equivalency Di-ploma. The meetings will be held-at the-Rappahannock County Library each Monday from 7-Sp."m!"There is no charge for thiff program.
