Opening at Middle St.
The public is invited to attend the opening of Eva Wine’s show of new paintings and drawings Saturday, Oct. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Middle Street Gallery. The exhibition is called “Tracks” and is based on the marks that remain in snow and mud after a presence, be it human or animal, has passed through. “Tracks” will be on view through October. Gallery hours are Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and by appointment.
PTA meeting
Sixth graders who studied biology of the eastern shore and high school students who studied biology, theology and politics of the Blue Ridge Mountain area will give presentations at the Rappahannock County Elementary PTA meeting on Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Robert Chappell will discuss the state required remedial education program and Chapter I program. The meeting will be held at the elementary school library.
Movie nights free parents
The Child Care and Learning Center will offer two nights of “Saturday Night at the Movies” for children ages three to 12 years during the month of October. Oct. 1 will be the first evening that parents can bring their children and have a night “without the kids.” The second night will be on Friday, Oct. 14. This evening will give parents a chance to go and hear Jesse Winchester at the Gay Street Theatre. CCLC will present a feature movie, cartoons, refreshments, and game time. The cost per hour per child will be $3. Refreshments are .25 cents per item. Parents must register by the day before so that we can get an accurate count of children. A sign-up sheet will be available at CCLC or parents can call 675-3237 to place the child’s name on the list.
