Saturday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Weakley entertained with a i>icnic at the Rappahannock Recreation Park in honor of eight week old Sherlock, the new addition to the family.
Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Peglow of Fort Valley, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Shepherd of Fairview Beach, Mrs. Jesse Curtis of Oecoquan, Mrs. Mary Gregory of Fairfax, Mr. and Mrs. Joel Daczewitz, Derek and Philip of Woodville, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Keys and daughter Angela and Mrs. Ethel Ramey of Slate Mills, Mrs. Mary Updike, Mr. and Mrs. John Schultz and Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Clark. Mrs. Daczewitz brought a “Welcome Sherlock” cake with a decorated picture of Sherlock on it for the occassion, by the way Sherlock is an eight week old Blood Hound that the Weakleys’ recently adopted. A good time was had by all and everyone spoiled the pup.
Happy Birthday to this writer’s husband Edward who celebrated a birthday on Friday, September 23.
Mrs. John Schultz was a Friday overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Sengstack, Eric and Jason in Centre ville.
Ms. Martha Alther of Front Royal spent several days recently with Mrs. Virginia Linstrom.
The Ladies Auxilliary to the Washington Fire Department and Rescue Squad urges everyone to come and shop at the Thrift Shop in town, for their winter clothes and household items. The shop is open every Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. The shop is closed during the winter.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Pennington were guests for several days last week of her brother and sister-inlaw, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Morgan in Corapeake, N.C.
Saturday Mr. and Mrs. James Beatty and sons Randy and Robbie of Point O’ Woods, Front Royal and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Brown and daughters Amanda and Bobbie Jo enjoyed the day at the National Zoo in Washington D.C. and had dinner in Manassas.
