gold medal A Gold medal was given to Oasis Vineyard, of Hume, for its 1987 Chardonnay as well as Second Best 'Of Show at the Norfolk Yacht & • .Country Club, which held the first Virginia Wine Competition of the year on Feb. 25. Ninety-five Virginia wines were elected. A Silver medal was also given to the N/V Chelois (also called Proprietor’s Selection Red); and the Gewurztraminer 1987 as well as the Oasis Champagne Brut came first in : their own categories.
