The edible pod peas, such as snow peas, can be sown at the same time as the other green peas. Snap peas, such as Sugar Snap, will germinate better if you wait until the soil has w armed a bit.
For early greens, plant Tendergreen or Southern Giant Curled mustard. They’ll be ready in about 35 to 40 days. Kale will take another two weeks to come in. I recommend Dwarf Blue Curled Vates for most of Virginia.
Broccoli set out as transplants is an easy crop for most home gardeners. You’ll need to spray or dust a few times to control green cabbage worms. Premium Crop is a good variety for Virginia because it tolerates the heat we’ll have as it matures.
