LFCC offers
scholarships
Lord Fairfax Community College will make available 22 full-tuition scholarships for the upcoming 1989-90 academic year. Eleven scholarships will be awarded by Lord Fairfax Community College, and the remaining 11 be awarded by each of the high schools in the college service area.
The deadline to apply for these scholarships is May 1.
LFCC will also offer a full-tuition scholarship for their upcoming 198990 academic year to a rising minority freshman. To apply, a high school senior needs only to complete an admissions application to Lord Fairfax Community College and submit it along with a high school transcript to LFCC by June 1. No additional application is necessary. The college will review all completed admissions applications and make their decision by June 10.

Poets sought
Some 300 prizes are being offered in World of Poetry’s Free Poetry Contest, open to all poets.
The grand prize is a whopping $2,500. The deadline for entering is March 31. Winners will be notified by May 1.
Says editor and publisher John Campbell: “Even if you have written only one poem in your life, send it in. We want this contest to produce exciting discoveries.”
