Wilson Atkins will teach a
class on making splint seats for chairs, March 20, 26 and 27, 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Elementary School Auditorium. The first meeting on March 20 will be for determining supplies needed. Chair seats will be made on March 26 and 27. Please call the Rappahannock Extension Office 675-3619 to register.
After a delay waiting for a quorum, the Rappahannock School Board zipped through a short open meeting on Tuesday night, disposing of all business in little over a half-hour. Then, at 8:30 p.m., the board retired to executive session for over three hours to discuss the old Scrabble school, personnel and discipline cases.

Rappahannock’s James Dennis
has been accepted as one of 200 students in the state who will attend the Governor’s School for the Gifted this summer at William and Mary. The program allows approximately 450 junior and senior high school students to take advanced studies in humanities and social science during a four-week long summer program at three sites.
Beth Toth, administrative counselor with the American Institute for Foreign Study, will chaperone a summer tour of Greece and Italy.
