The record of attendance at
Rappahannock County Elementary School for the month of February showed the school as a whole with 94 percent, and the seventh-grade class under James Wayland as the leading class with 98 percent attendance. Mrs. Annie Cooke’s seventh-grade class was second with 97.6 percent followed closely by Miss Elsie Dodson’s fourth-graders with 97.5 percent.
Airman Caroline V. Jenkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Jenkins, Huntly, has completed basic training at Lackland, AFB, Texas. She has been assigned to Lowry AFB, Colo., for training in the supply field. Airman Jenkins is a graduate of Rappahannock County High School, Washington, Va.

Mrs. Dorothy Davis has
filed as a candidate for the office of mayor of the Town of Washington, Va., subject to the election in May. This is not a new venture for Mrs. Davis, who was the original “Lady Mayor” of the town in the early 1950s when the women took over the position of mayor and all council seats.
The play “Winnie the Pooh” will be presented by the Country Players Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Elementary School. The Country Players is a dramatic group sponsored by the Rappahannock Education Association. Its mem
