Set each plant so the base of the central bud is at the soil level. If set too low, soil mav wash over the crown during a rainstorm and srrtother the plant. If set too high, the top part of the roots will be exposed and the plant will grow poorly. 1 Spread the roots out and firm the soil about them to eliminate air pockets in the soil.

Course on
bird study
A Bird Study Course will be offered in Washington beginning May 4. The course will consist of three one-hour class sessions on Thursdays from 9-10 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church.
The course is open to anyone with an interest in birds and who wants to learn more. Registration will be limited to 15 participants and there will be a $20 charge for the course.
