Mrs. F. Paige Butler of

Charlottesville presented a demonstration and lecture on “New Concepts in Flower Arrangements” at the Sperryville fire hall Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Butler is a national instructor in all types of flower design. Mrs. Butler is active in church and civic groups and gives workshop and lecture demonstrations. Her lectures reflect a new approach to flower arranging.

Patrick Alther of Sperryville has been elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Virginia where he is a senior, majoring in Arts and Political Science. He has also received a scholarship to do graduate work for about two years in Manchester, England. Patrick is the son of Martha Alther and a 1965 graduate of Rappahannock County High School.

There will be a crossover between

the existing two lanes and the new two lanes once the Highway Department completes four laning Route 211 through Amissville, Supervisor J. R. Latham reported last Thursday. Latham said Delegate D. French Slaughter told him that a crossover has been approved at Route 730. Neither the design nor exact location are specific yet.
