Anthony is a quiet kid, almost the stereotypical bookworm. Yet he’s well-respected by his classmates, so much so that they’ve elected him president of the Student Government Association, and of the senior class.
Before the seniors’ recent trip to Disneyland, Anthony’s classmate, Eric Dunn, sang a song about his pal in Physics class. (It borrows the tune of the Mickey Mouse Club theme -- kind of.) “M-I-T-F-U-l/, Anthony Fudd (repeat). Six percent. Anthony Fudd. Six percent. Anthony Fudd. Watch my GPA soar, high, high, high. M-I-T-F-U-D a perfect family. M-I-T and Anthony, as cool as they can be.”
Anthony applied to MIT and Harvard (he hasn’t heard back from them yet) because he knew it would a challenge. He thrives on challenges and he cherishes the thought that he is doing something no other student from Rappahannock has done before him. But his heart will always be on the morning side of the Blue Ridge here in Rappahannock County.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Anthony goes out in the big world and then comes back home to be a successful artist like the Far Side’s Gary Larson,” concluded Mr. Heddleston.
