August-like weather, government furloughs, and a three-day weekend all may have contributed to the success of the Sperryville Apple Harvest Festival, this past weekend.
“It’s been a outstanding weekend,” John Jenkins from Country Home Antiques said, adding this is probably one of the “best years so far” for the annual fall event.
Precise tole paintings, decorated straw hats, blue and pink rocking horses, dried flowers, herbs and spices, simmering apple butter, delicious funnel cakes, crates of fine Rappahannock-grown apples in a fall spectrum of color and fine antiques lined the streets of Sperryville, filling parking lots and street sides
