The 34th Annual Rappahannock House Tour and Dried Flower Sale will be held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20 and 21.
Over the years this event, sponsored by the Churchwomen of Bromfield Parish has been a popular highlight of the fall season in Rappahannock County. As in the past, headquarters for the tour will be the Parish Hall of Trinity Episcopal Church in historic Washington.
Three homes will be open for viewing from 11 a. m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Block tickets, available at the Parish Hall or individual houses will be $10 for all three houses and tea and $3.50 for a single house. Tea will be served 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. both afternoons in historic Washington House at Main and Middle Streets in Washington. Box lunches by the ladies of Washington First Baptist Church will also be available at the Parish Hall.
Offered for sale at tour headquarters will be hundreds of dried flower arrangements prepared by the Bromfield Churchwomen, members of the Rappahannock County Garden Club and others.
The second of the houses is “Home Base.”
This cedar-sided contemporary farm house, built in 1988, is located in, the town of Washington on the west side of Mt. Salem Avenue just off U.S. 211. With its dormers and large porch it is reminiscent of farm houses of the Mid-west.
