A major new job-training initiative was unveiled last week by the state Department of Social Services and the Piedmont Job Training Administration.
The program, according to state Commissioner of Social Services Larry Jackson, differs from previous efforts because of the cooperative efarrangements between a number of agencies in providing services to chronically unemployed residents.
