George Washington Mills and Hester William Mills. He was a lifetime resident of Rappahannock and was a retired employee of the Civil Service from the Quartermaster Remount Depot in Front Royal.
Surviving are his wife, Susie Williams Mills; two sons, Joseph Mills of Alexandria and George Osborne Mills of Culpeper; one daughter, Eleanor Gieselman of Vernon Hill; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home.
Ada Anderson
Ada May Anderson of Glen Burnie, Md., died Oct. 4 at her residence.
Mrs. Anderson was a long-time resident of Rappahannock and the widow of Mr. Carson Anderson.
Survivors include one son, Edward Anderson of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia; two grandchildren, Pam and Tim Anderson; two sisters; and three brothers.
A memorial service was held on Oct. 7.
Ethel Cunningham
Ethel E. Cunningham, 93, of Front Royal, died Oct. 2 in Royal Haven Rest Home.
A graveside service was held Oct. 8 in Prospect Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas D. Clay officiating.
Miss Cunningham was born July 26, 1897, in Parker, Pa., the daughter of the late Rev. James A. and Katherine Benn Cunningham, formerly of Washington. She attended Wooster College in Ohio, graduated from Syracuse University and received a master’s degree from New York University. She taught English literature in the New Jersey public schools, was a docent at Belle Grove Plantation and a longtime member of the Garden Club of War
