Mr. Burke was bom Jan. 4, 1936 in the District of Columbia, the son of Clara Burke Lauria and the late Ashby Burke. He was employed by Communications Corporation of America and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.
Besides his mother, survivors include two sons, Charles AndreW Burke of Fredericksburg and Michael Ray Burke of Culpeper; one daughter, Teresa Lynn Hawkins of Castleton; one brother, William A. Burke of Rixeyville; one sister, Shirley Marie Jackson of Ruckersville; two grandsons and two aunts.
Funeral services were held Oct. 6 at Clore Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Mark Jarvis officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
