Animal Welfare League meets
The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7;30 p.m. at the Washington fire hall. All members and residents interested in the plight of stray and abandoned animals in Rappahannock County are urged to attend.
Artists at Trading Post
Abraham Begay, a Navajo master silversmith, and Retha Walden Gambaro, a *.,-.iGfWk sculptor^ will be a the Trading Post on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 13 and 14. On Sunday only the American Indian Society of Washington, D.C. will appear with a diverse group of craft people, dancers, singers and drummers. They will also prepare Indian tacos and fry bread for sale. The Trading Post, located on U.S. 211 just west of Washington, will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
AIDS forum at CMH
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome will be the topic of a free community health forum at Culpeper Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. Presented by Dr. Michael Rein, professor of medicine at the University of Virginia, the forum will be held in the hospital boardroom. Shooting match in Castleton
The Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a shooting match Saturday, Oct. 13. The match begins at 1 p.m. Shooters are reminded that only 12 gauge shotguns are allowed; no sleeves or scopes. Cash and other prizes will be awarded.
