The 4-H Livestock Club meets on the third Monday at 7:30 p.m. in member’s homes. Their leaders are Toni and Randall Updike at 6753747; BiU Starks at 675-3630; and Nancy Reeve at 987-8944. All youth interested in learning about livestock and raising cattle, sheep, or swine are encouraged to participate.
Chester Gap 4-H Club: Maybelle Gilkey at 635-5472 is the leader for the 4-H community club in Chester Gap. It meets dn the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Chester Gap Fire Hall.
The Amissville 4-H Club meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. Jennifer Gray (937-5092), Linda Mallory (937-5039), and Rose Barney (937-6109) are the volunteer leaders who work with the youth in the Amissville 4-H Club.
In addition to the community and project clubs in the county, there are other 4-H programs and educational activities in which local youth can participate. These include the school-enrichment programs like the Embryology Project and the Stock Market Game; the 4-H Share-theFun Contest; 4-H Presentation and Public Speaking contests; the Culpeper-Madison-Rappahannock Farm Show; 4-H camps; 4-H workshops; statewide 4-H Congress at Virginia Tech; and serving as a 4-H Ambassador or International delegate.
