Bangladeshi, Sri Lankans, Indians. Pakistanis, Phillipines and Koreans, perhaps even Israelis, Syrians, and Turks who will constitute the majority of war’s victims.
In this sense, any war will be a world war. As many women and children will die as will men and members of armed forces. I don’t say this because I believe women and children are more precious than men, but rather because war propagandists, men, mostly, tend to associate war and death and injury with men.
We need to tell President Bush, Senators Warner and Robb, and Congressman Slaughter that we don’t want and don’t accept a war in the Middle East. You can send the same letter to all of them. Write today. Time is short.
It may do no good, but it can do no harm, and those who are free to decide for war need to hear from us, who will be their prisoners of war.
