Father Maurice is survived by his sister, Mrs. Marie Jeanne Rutsaert du Castillon and two nieces, Joke Rutsaert and Lieve Rutsaert, both of Belgium.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Culpeper, with the Rev. Joe Giordano, C.I.C.M., Provincial of the Missionhurst Fathers, officiating.
Following the service, Father Maurice was buried at Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper. Members of the Knights of Columbus, John J. Cempre Council; Joseph Kratochvil, Richard Hall, Leonard Bosworth Sr., Emilien Ouelette Sr., Edward Stapleton Sr., and Richard Batiste served as pallbearers.
A Christian wake was held for family and friends on Monday, Nov. 19 at Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper.
