borne seniors no longer maintain a home. Such seniors spend part of the year in Rappahannock and then go to live with another child. Mrs. Pullen writes letters to let them know what is going on at the Center. She is also writing a sick homebound senior. She thinks it’s important that he continue to feel a part of the Center.
Mrs. Pullen is a salesperson. She sold 100 plus “Old Family Recipe” cookbooks, the proceeds from which benefit the Senior Nutrition Center.
The cookbook is a senior citizen product. Mrs. Pullen’s recipes are in this book. She is a good cook and is noted for pie and pound cake.
She always helps with the Seniors’ July 4th Bake Sale and then helps serve the Washington Fire Company’s barbecue dinner.
There are fun events at the Center. Mrs. Pullen has been known to dance at such times. I hear it’s a mean Charleston!
She is a senior, but she has more energy than a gang of teenagers. Mrs. Pullen is chief hotdog chef at the Flint Hill Fire Company’s carnival. Her hearty laugh adds to the joy of the carnival. She helps with all auxiliary dinners and projects.
Mrs. Pullen’s flowers add beauty to many events. This year she has given flowers for a baby shower, weddings, and to our Extension Homemaker sponsored Volunteer Dinner. For the past few weeks her dahlias have added to the service at Flint Hill Methodist. She is just as generous with her plants as with her
