seeks auditions
Olde Towne Theatre, a new, professional theatrical production group that has recently relocated to Washington, will hold its first open call audition for a show at the Gay Street Theatre.
The newly re-fiirbished, 263-seat theatre will be the home of Olde Towne Theatre after 15 years in the “big city arena,” according to company principal Sheree Reinholt-Kren.
The final play selection will be determined at the close of auditions, based on the talent available, Ms. Kren said. The one day audition will be held at the Gay Street Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 24 from noon to 2 p.m. Actors are asked to prepare a short three-minute monologue and bring picture and resume if available. All supporting and secondary roles will be cast at this audition. Leads may be cast from out-of-town if necessary.
“Experienced actors are encouraged to attend and get involved wtih Old Towne Theatre’s first production in Washington,” Ms. Kren said.
All actors and technical crew will divide a small percent of the net profits on productions at the theatre.
Of special interest to future directors, OTT will appoint a stage manager for the March show who will receive full training as part of the student directorship program to be implemented, she added.
Directors for OTT must complete a 12-month internship as stage manager and three productions as asst, director before they take the reins for their own show.
Sheree Rainbolt-Kren will produce this first endeavor and Frank Kren will take the director’s chair. Both will make the final casting decisions. For more information, call (703) 675-1157.
