Bloodmobile Nov. 26
The Extension Homemaker Clubs will host the Red Cross Bloodmobile on Monday, Nov. 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Washington fire hall. “Even though this is a busy time of year during the holidays, don’t forget to come to the Bloodmobile and give blood,’’ said Helen Smith, Advisor to the Extension Homemaker Clubs. “The gift of life is the best gift you could give someone this holiday season. ”
Soccer award banquet
The Rappahannock Soccer League will host an awards banquet for the 1990 players and coaches at RCES Saturday, Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. All players will receive an award. Reservations are necessary and must be received by Nov. 15. The cost for adults is $4 and children $2.50. Call Maggie Rogers for additional information, 987-9402.
Gun tickets available
The Chester Gap Fire Department is sponsoring a gun lottery. The ticket price is $30 and will be good for one year and you could win a gun a week for 52 weeks. There will only be 1,000 tickets. For more information call 635-4673 or 636-3279, anytime, 635-8305 after 6 p.m. or 635-5472 after 5 p.m.
Alumni basketball tourney
The RCHS Athletic Department will be holding the second annual men’s alumni basketball tournament Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23 and 24. This year’s tournament is co-sponsored by Shenandoah Motors in Front Royal which is providing game jerseys for all four teams and a trophy to the first place finisher and Most Valuable Player. Four coaches are needed immediately before teams can be selected. If interested, call Gary Leake from 8:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m. at 987-8575.
New dance unveiled
The Last Minute Wood Company, a dance ensemble based in Rappahannock County, will perform original choreography by Sally Nash on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Rappahannock Elementary School at 8 p.m. The program will feature dances of Nash’s new work, “Sanskrit.” Tickets are $8.50 in advance and $10 at the door. Christmas bazaar Dec. 8
On Saturday, Dec. 8, the 8th Annual Christmas Crafters Bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Parish Hall of Precious Blood Catholic Church, 401 N. Main Street in Culpeper. The bazaar will feature many local crafters offering a variety of Christmas and country items including a large selection of Christmas decorations. There will also be folk art, tole painting & other decorative paintings, decopage, needlecraft, hats and fans with flowers, plus handmade dolls, bears and many wooden toys. In addition, the Catholic Women's Council will have fresh baked goods and grab bag items for sale.
