Christmas bazaar at CCLC

The Child Care and Learning Center will be holding its 5th annual Christmas bazaar, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1. Refreshments, local artists, craftspeople, baked goods, Santa Claus and lots more will be featured. All proceeds will benefit CCLC’s scholarship fund. For more information call CCLC at 675-3237.

Dance at fire hall

There will be a dance at the Washington fire hall on Saturday, Nov. 24 from 8 a.m. until 12 midnight. Music will be provided by Chain Reaction and their special guest “The Doctor.” Tickets are $5 per person or $8 a couple.

'Nutcracker' Dec. 1,2

The whimsical charms of “The Story of the Nutcracker” will be performed Dec. 1 and 2 at the Gay Street Theatre in Washington. Produced and performed by the nationally acclaimed Bob Brown Puppet Productions, this adaptation has been delighting audiences across the country since it premiered in 1976. Show times are 2 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday and tickets are all $5 and will be sold at the door. This production is being held in conjunction with the Colonial Christmas Celebration held annually in Washington.

Holiday giveaway planned

There will be a toys, clothes, household items, etc. giveaway, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Washington Baptist Church. Snow date is Saturday, Dec. 15. To donate items or for more information call Janet 987-9029. “Last year there was a great need for larger sized clothes,” said a spokesperson. The giveaway is sponsored by various 4-H groups, Girl Scouts and Washington Baptist Church.

Benefit raffle

Win a dinner for two at The Inn at Little Washington or a handmade knotty pine mirror courtesy of Country Cupboards. Raffle tickets are now available at the Flint Hill Store, Settle’s Garage, Baldwin’s, Mountainside Market, Sperryville Comer Store and the Child Care and Learning Center. Drawings will be held on Dec. 1 at CCLC’s Christmas bazaar. All proceeds will benefit CCLC’s scholarship fund.
