Stuart Field is considered an athletic facility, and insurance liability will be provided by the Amissville Ruritans.
“The Rurtians are co-sponsoring the playground,” Mrs. Mackiea said.
“We have promised to raise the money for the facility and build it in the spring,” she said, explaining the mothers hope to raise $500 for the playground and an additional $300 for landscaping, benches and a fence to surround the playground.
“This is a very conservative estimate,” Mrs. Mackiea said, adding the proposed design has been built by an Amissville resident both in a residental and public location.
Available funds will purchase the necessary equipment with labor provided by local citizens.
Bake sales, prize chances, money jars are part of the efforts to raise funds. Local businesses, citizens and those interested are being asked to participate. Private donations are accepted.

“We need an estimated $800,” she said, explaining the design the mothers hope to use is expandable.
“If we raise more money or more money in the future, we can expand,” she said.
The mothers hope to raise the money through next spring followed by a groundbreaking when spring weather allows.
The playground should open the summer of 1992.
