• The Motor Vehicle Manufacturers’ Warranty Adjustment Act will be established to allow the Board of Agriculture and Consumer Services to regulate motor vehicle warranty adjustment programs. In some cases, the manufacturer will pay for all or part of the cost of repairing a vehicle for a condition that may substantially affect vehicle durability, reliability or performance.
• The number of dealer license plates allocated to a dealer will be based on the number of vehicles a dealer sells in a licensing period. Individuals authorized to use plates will be limited to dealers, their spouses and dealership employees.
• Promotional plates will be offered to dealers to use on vehicles in parades and special events for 30 consecutive days to advertise their dealership. Extended use of the plates may be authorized by the Comissioner when requested in writing. These plates are available for a $100 yearly fee in addition to regular fees paid by the dealer. Localities • Members or prospective members of local volunteer fire departments and rescue squads may obtain a free copy of their driving record if the information will be used to qualify the individual to operate rescue vehicles.
• Automobile owners may submit proof of a vehicle’s cost to a locality in the event there is a dispute about the basis for assessing personal property tax.
