Washington Mayor Dean Morehouse said he agrees, but called the last plan “very ambitious” and “too big.”
He had positive words for the business and its owners. “I think they’re a positive influence. They allow us to run a government without the burden of a tax base,” said' Mayor Morehouse.
The Inn is “the type of thing the town ought to promote. It provides tourism and clean revenue,” Mayor Morehouse said.
He added that it would be “a tragedy” if The Inn were to move out of Washington. “They’re good for the town, and we’re good for them as well. This is a unique little town.”
