About $800 worth of chainlink fencing was stolen from

About $800 worth of chainlink fencing was stolen from the Rappahannock Athletic Association last week, according to Sheriff John Henry Woodward.

The RAA reported on July 1 that someone stole eight $100 rolls of the fencing, but left the posts, said Sheriff Woodward. The fencing was being stored at Stuart Field in Amissville.

In other police and court action this week:

• Charles Allen Brown, 26, of Sperryville, was sentenced to five years for grand larceny and five years for breaking and entering by Circuit Court Judge James Chamblin on Monday. The sentences were directed to run concurrent with each other.

Judge Chamblin suspended imposition of the sentences until Brown could be considered for inclusion in the Community Diversion Incentive (CDI) program.

Brown, convicted of burglarizing the Sperryville Exxon, will also have to pay $243 in costs and restitution.

• Vicki Blaylock Taylor, 27, of Stephens City, had a five-year sentence for a bad check reinstated following her failure to complete her CDI obligation. All but 60 days were then suspended again, leaving Taylor to serve only 60 days. Judge Chamblin also ordered her to complete the CDI requirements within six months of her release from jail.

• Samuel Jennings Taylor, 33, of Alexandria, was ordered to undergo the DAART drug treatment program or serve one year in the state penitentiary. Taylor Mbs been convicted of driving after having been declared a habitual offender.

• Carl Joe Wilson Jr., 25, of Mesa, Ariz., was accepted into the CDI program by Judge Chamblin. In May he was sentenced to five years in prison for cocaine possession. His five-year sentence was suspended on the condition he complete his CDI obligation and two years of supervised probation.

• Crystal Roxanne Hale, 36, of Luray, was ordered to serve six months of a five year prison term for forgery and undergo five years of supervised probation upon release.
