This lab cross, about 9 months old, black with white toes and a white chest, is a very sweet male who came to the shelter suffering from a gunshot wound. He is healed and ready for adoption. He and many other adoptable dogs are available at the Rappahannock Animal Shelter in Amissville. The shelter is open from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. The lost animal registry can be found in the Classified Section of the Rappahannock News. South Wales hosts
benefit golf event
The Fauquier Outreach Committee of the Northern Virginia Builders Association invites golfers to come out and play to benefit a teen center facilitated by the Fauquier County Parks and Recreational Department.
Their second annual golf outing is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 28, at South Wales Golf Course. The first game will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. The cost per foursome is $250, including carts, green fees, continental breakfast, refreshments, barbecue, and prizes. Sponsorship of tees and greens are available at $100 each, and will be posted with sponsor name. Sponsoring a foursome costs only $50 per tee or green.
