“On the average, July days this year, compared to last July, are 12 degrees cooler in the day and 33 degrees warmer at night,” he said, explaining that while the temperature was only 88 degrees for a high on Monday, nighttime temperatures never dropped below 72 degrees.
“That’s not very low,” he said.
“Last year, the first five days of July were real gangbusters,” he said, comparing it to his records that date back years.
“We were recording days in the 90s nearly every day,” he said. The first nine days of July 1991 have seen only two days in the low 90s, he said.
