strong contenders for the three-mile race. Heading the group is three-time 1992 winner Tom’s War. Owner Ready Snodgrass is looking to capture more points and add to her lead in this series. Jill Waterman, her closest rival, will ride either Worthy Key or Nomoniker and try to stop Tom’s War’s winning streak.
Michele Rouse will ride her Fire Sale, with Dawn Dugan also entering the fray. Sara Laimbeer rounds out the field on her Courtly Bee.
An open hurdle contest is carded to run over two miles. Exciting entrants in the steeplechase are recent winners Oakbum and Forever Lynne.
Trainer Pat Myer has not listed a rider on Kinross Farm’s Oakbum, but apprentice Gus Brown has guided the New Zealand-bred in a most professional manner in this season’s win and places. Barry Duncan will ride Forever Lynne, a winner at the March 7 Blue Ridge races.
The maiden hurdle race attracted 23 runners, possibly meaning a split. At the top of the class, set for a win, is Mr. Osier’s royally-bred Spell Singer. Irish visitor Charlie McCann will ride the gelding, by top-rated sire The Minstrel.
