Letters policy
The Rappahannock News is your newspaper. We encourage our readers to express their feelings on matters of public concern. “Letters to the editor” provides a forum for your opinion.
Letters should be concise, as spate may require editing.
Whenever possible, letters should be typed and doublespaced. To be considered for publication, they must bear the writer's signature, address and daytime telephone number. Anonymous letters will not be published. The writer’s name may be withheld under extreme circumstances only.
Letters must reach the editor by 10 a.m. Tuesday to be considered for publication that week. Letters may be mailed to the Rappahannock News, P.O. Box 59, Washington, Va. 22747-0059, or delivered to the news office on Main Street in Washington. For more information call 675-3338.
