in general, are just as important in tight economic times. “There’s a prevalent and understandable attitude that art is something extra in our lives and not necessarily tied to survival. But it really is ‘nourishment for the soul,’ and in times of duress, to be able to have what art or theater gives you, which is illumination of some kind, it helps us get a little perspective.”
Ted Pugh, Mrs. Day’s partner for the evening, has been an actor for over .‘10 years. On Broadway he originated the role of Ozzie Babson in “Irene." He has appeared on the Tonight Show, with Merv Griffin, and on David Frost’s show as half of the comedy team Lawless and Pugh. He teaches, directs and performs with The Actors’ Ensemble of New York and is a member of the Ki Theatre ensemble.
