Funeral services were held last Sunday in Flint Hill for Maurice “Moe” Walker, 67, long active in community affairs.
Mr. Walker died Thursday in the Winchester Medical Center following a heart attack.
His passing leaves big shoes to fill in the Flint Hill United Methodist Church— at the time of his death he was chairman of the church’s Administrative Council—and in the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company.
Born May 17, 1924 in Gordonsville, Mr. Walker was the son of the late Maurice D. and Mary Lou Wood Walker. He leaves a widow, Evelyn Cook Walker of Flint Hill, a son, Douglas O. Walker of Rome, Ga., and a daughter, Joyce E. Walker of Arlington, Va.
