Lion's Club annual auction
The Rappahannock Lion’s Club will hold a benefit auction at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 9 at the Washington Volunteer Fire Department.
Donations of new, re-newed and saleable items are needed, cash donations always acceptable but food and clothing items are not. Gift certificates’ for meals and services appreciated and all donations are tax deductible;
Urgently needed are additional funds to aid in the increase of legitimate requests for sight and hearing assistance in the Rappahannock County community.

Old Dominion Races
Old Dominion Hunt Point-to-Point Races will be held Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5 at Ben Venue Race Course, 16 miles west of Warrenton on U.S. 211 at Entrance of Route 729. On Saturday the first race begins at noon and on Sundqy the Hunter Pairs race begins at 1 p.m. Tickets are $5, children under 12 free. Class reunion planned
Graduates of Rappahannock High School from 1970-74.will have a class reunion from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, May 16. Social hour will be from 6 to 7, dinner from 7 to 9 and a dance from 9 to 1.

Flea market
The Betty Newhouse Circle of Culpeper United Methodist Church will be having a flea market on Saturday, May 2 in the Culpeper United Methodist Church parking lot from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the event of rain, the market will be May 9. Tables will rent for $15 and spaces will rent for $10. All spaces and tables must be paid for in advance. Vehicle stickers on sale
Vehicle stickers for Rappahannock County are on sale at the Treasurer’s Office on Gay Street. Taxes must be paid and sticker displayed by May 1. The office hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Call 675-3834.
Tax assistance available
The Rappahannock Commissioner of Revenue’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning March 16 and continuing through May 1 to help anyone who may have tax questions. For more information, call 675-3513.
Spring event at church
Washington Baptist Church will be having their annual spring event during the Fodderstack Race beginning at 10 a.m. on April 25 with plate lunches, barbecue chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks, bake sale, plants. Grandma’s Attic anil crafts.
Dance at Amissville
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 11. The band “Tarragon” will play. Proper dress and identification is required. For more information call 937-4357.
