The Blue Jays, sponsored by Maw and Paw’s Country Store, defeated the Royals, 17-4, June 11 at Stuart Field, to take first place in the 13-15 year-old Babe Ruth Division. The win improved the Blue Jays’ record to 4-1. The overall playing of Dari Scott and Chris Dodson, and key hits by Daniel Hitt, Sam Kilhefner, Scott Hackley and Jeremy Tygrett helped to win the game in four and half innings under the 10 run slaughter rule.

Only one hit was allowed by pitchers J.T. Williams and Josh Hitt, giving Williams the win and Hitt the save. The Royals fell behind early in the game and were unable to rally, despite the outstanding offensive and defensive plays of James Eastman, Paul and Jason Brown.
