He said Mr. Perot is “trying to run against the media, but he wants them to give him free advertising. The media may play into it. Pm concerned that this guy is using them to his advantage.”

Local Democratic Party chairman Kent Reeve feels the Perot campaign will still be strong in November because of the personal fortune Mr. Perot can spend on the campaign.

He noted that Mr. Perot has said he can spend $100 million on the campaign. “That is one 30th of what he owns,” Mr. Reeve said. “He could run every four years for 120 years before he went broke.”

Mr. Reeve said he believes the success of the Perot campaign shows that political party organizations and issues are less important than they once were. He noted that Republican strategy seems to be to try to "pin him [Ross Perot] down on the issues. They don’t understand that
