Susan Butler
earns degree
Susan Warfield Butler received the bachelor of arts degree during the 150th commencement ceremony Sunday, May 17 at Hollins College in Roanoke.
Daughter of Maurice L. Butler of Boston and Carolyn W. Butler of Springfield, formerly of Annandale, she majored in economics and Spanish. A graduate of Annandale High School, she was elected to Sigma Delta Pi, international Hispanic honor society.
Founded in 1842 at Virginia’s first chartered women’s college, Hollins celebrated its sesquicentennial as a leader in liberal arts education. With nationally recognized programs in creative writing and psychology, Hollins emphasizes teaching with a prestigious faculty and small classes.
