Natural Day Camp
Rappahannock Natural Day Camp will be held July 6-17 at Horseshow Hollow Farm on the Fodderstack Road (Route 628) near Washington. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Tuition is $120 for the two weeks. For additional information or to register call Hunt Harris at 675-1436.
Authors at book sale
During the Rappahannock Library 4th of July book sale two local authors Edward Wilman, author of “Blindeye" and Susan Crites, author of “Murder in Martinsburg” will be at the Rappahannock County Library from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. autographing and selling their newest books.
Arts and crafts camp
Two Middle Street Gallery artists are offering summer classes for children. Session I, a Multi-Media Experience, will be conducted by Janet Kerig (987-8760) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 27-31. Students will make pottery, masks, art from nature, tie-dve and more. The cost is $60.
Session II, “Drawing from Your Imagination,” will be taught by Laurie Marshall (675-3267) from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Aug. 3-7. Students will explore their creativity and learn technical skills in the process. The cost is $25. Call the artists for more information and to register.
Classes offered
Young people are invited to take classes this summer at the Fauquier Campus of Lord Fairfax Community College in Warrenton. Courses include keyboarding, public speaking, watereolor painting, babysitting, and tie-dying. Laurie Marshall will be offering the “Drawing from Your Imagination” class at the Fauquier Camppure from 10 4 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 12-16 and July 20-23 for grades 4-9. The fee is $15. Alumni baseball game
There will be an alumni baseball game at 4 p.m. at Rappahannock High School on Saturday, July 11. So all of you old timers that feel that urge to try it one more time, call David (Scratch) Clanagan at 987-8937 after 5 p.m.
This game will benefit the Rappahannock Monarchs baseball team. A small fee of $3 for audits and $2 for children is requested. “We are asking for everyone to come out and help us to keep mens baseball alive in Rappahannock County,” said Mr. Clanagan.
Books needed
The Rappahannock County Library is seeking book donations for its annual 4th of July book sale. Please bring donated books to the new library building any time during business hours prior to the 4th of July.
