In considering the Comprehensive Plan, Planning Commission Chairman Louise Van Dort read from a list of questions and comments sent in by Diane Bruce. Some of Ms. Bruce’s suggestions were incorporated in the plan.

Mr. Miller suggested that preserving the residential character of the town be made one of the goals. The other members of the council and Planning Commission agreed.

The first goal was expanded to cover Mr. Miller’s suggestion and a policy was adopted to encourage and preserve residential development, especially in the village residential and rural residential zones, but also in the village mixed use zone.

The Planning Commission approved the Comprehensive Plan as amended. The council will consider it again at the July 8 meeting.
