Business Council picnic
Members of the Sperryville Business Council will meet for their annual picnic at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at Tranquility, home of Barbara C. Burke near Sperryville. There will also be a short business meeting. All members are invited.
Senior citizens camp
Each year the Northern Virginia 4-H Center conducts an annual 4-H camp for senior citizens. The 1992 Seniors Camp will be held the weekend of July 24-26. The weekend program promises to be full of! fun-filled educational and recreational activities similar to the ones' planned for 4-H youth at regular 4-H camp during the summer months. Registration for the weekend program is $58 and is due July 3. Call 675-3619 or stop by the Rappahannock Extension Office for reg-' istration forms and information on the program.
Car wash, bake sale
The Child Care and Learning Center will be holiday a holiday car wash and bake sale on Wednesday and Thursday, July 1 and 2. The car wash will be from 9:30 to 12 and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday; the bake sale will run both days from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the school age field trip fund. “Come out and support the children,” said an organizer.
Breakthrough summer
The Christa McAuliffe project for the state of Virginia starts July 6 at Rappahannock High School, running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Breakthrough participants will move from rooms that are air conditioned to rooms that are not - dress accordingly! Bring a bag lunch. Enrollment is full but a waiting list is available by contacting either school.
No bingo for two weeks
The Castleton Volunteer Fire Department will not be holding bingo for the next two Saturday’s in honor of Amissville’s carnival and Washington’s Fourth of July celebration. Bingo will resume Saturday, July 11.
Exhibit at Middle Street
Middle Street Gallery is featuring through the end of June member Judith Einstman in a solo exhibition of pastel drawings and serigraphs.
Middle Street Gallery is a non-profit artist’s cooperative located in Washington, Va. The Gallery is open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
