If you thought 1992 was a w et year, you’re right. In fact according to statistics compiled by Rappahannock weather watcher Dennis Wingfield it was the second wettest year since he began compiling weather data in 1981.

The average annual precipitation for the years 1981 through 1992 was 47.15 inches. In only two years has the rainfall been more than 10 inches above that average: 1983 at 59.6 inches and 1992 at SR. 35
